TOO USUAL A BATTLE
Turn of pages, turn of faces, turn of highs and lows, Fast steps to heavy drags but never reduced to slow. Gasped breath, weary eyes. Release of sighs, tears dry.
Stare out a window, stare past triumphs and struggles, Looking to a sky, full of bright clouds settled. Wind blows, lasting thoughts. Gales die, mettle sought.
List these points, list these lessons in mind, No other fear, not even one left behind. Too usual a battle, what is new. We're all angled, what's askew?
