The first day of SPH relays just passed and yeah I screwed up for 4x400m. Ended up like one big gap between me and the rest. Sigh. Totaled 58.8 seconds and I don't feel happy lah.

What would track be like if everyone were to be born equal?

Before it strikes twelve I would like to say that I really needed this holiday.

As to whether I'm ready for the new term, I'm unsure.

Yep just press on.

And Kenya takes the title again for the commonwealth cross country finals. Really amazing; that fellow clocked 12:23 for 5km and that's like less than a minute on average for each round on the track. I'm simply awestruck.

Bye for now, gotta go for french lessons. School reopens tomorrow!

Monday, March 20

It's the last day of the holidays. In any way officially it is.

If a certain of us people have really sad lives, the least people can do is to let them know.

Or so we think that we might be sadly for real - deprived of the fun and the release. Yet we don't force it but just reduce to sitting in the shadows doing nothing but gape at the sky and wonder why it isn't falling.

Especially when it's just so heavy.

All the times we tried to make the best of what we can, all too blindly, too strongly, and when fate comes and questions us our purpose we fall to our knees and wonder why. We would crave for such strength but we wouldn't have gotten it if we actually saw the desperation in our fight for things that just merely appear real.

Would it hurt to stare directly into life's eye and say, "I will make you look good."

And finally I feel that if all of life's problems of everyone in the single universe all fell on the shoulders of one single guy, that poor bloke wouldn't even be able to open his mouth to tell us how it feels for he'd be squashed flat.

Naturally.

Numbers can't go into my head.
Symbols drag, painfully.
Words move steadily, clearly.
Feelings surge and bring on a high;
Negativity speed and allow me to sigh.
Blood just flows.

I can't really feel happy today. I've an ulcer around my upper gum so I can't even smile. Seriously sad.

Saturday, March 18

Today I went to Malaysia in the afternoon and I was wandering around this new and nice shopping mall. When I was about to leave, there was this old woman who stopped me and muttered in soft and muffled chinese.

"Hey little boy, what's the time now?" And pointed to my watch.

Unfortunately I was in one of my blur spells and I didn't catch what she said properly. In fact I interpreted it as something like

"Hey little boy, how much does your watch cost?"

And GOSH I just shrugged and walked away and after a few seconds I walked back, FINALLY REALISING WHAT SHE WANTED. And yeah told her the time and left after that. Sheesh!

Blurness.

Thursday, March 16

Just some last few ramblings before I turn in for the night.

For all we know it's a day full of pain and anguish;
that we might derive from the most
foolish of things, and
all in all it might seem real,
in fact too real.
From this we set the days behind and go on to the next;
for we know everyday's the same
and won't be changed,
unless it's made to be so.
From times of tears we've lived to fear
the memory of our lives;
and so it is, just like that.
And yes it's true, painfully true.

'Tis a day where people gain
and be happy for their might
of a joyous occasion, a single tear
blesses the warmth of the heart.
To be happy to know
that people are there;
Contented to know
that people do care.
But for them we cast aside,
the circle whose lives
undefined, undefied and morbid;
huddle together for warmth inside
but the frost pains on the surface.
And boy, we do have no choice
but to plod along and pray
for something in store
that we might choose to adore,
just like ever before -
Oh cut it.

Today, is one of those days you really hate to endure whilst you dig away into the big succulent pile of homework and assignments. Plus it ain't just the academic work that's bugging me, oh well I'd do fine with that alone. Commitments commitments, now they all try to fight with each other to fit nicely into me, and in the end I end up messed and worried.

Training was fine except that I got myself really tired and while I was getting my hair cut I actually fell (half) asleep and the barber had to poke me awake when he needed further instructions. Sheesh.

And when I got home I got myself to work but real slowly. Now it's 6.30pm and blah only a bit of stuff done. No holidays aren't there to make us feel sian and start to slack pls, I hope. I want my rest too. And eh perhaps that's why im feeling like that perhaps I should sleep more.

But then again BLAH. Irritating, bugging, pissifying piece of life within this week of 7 days.

Or so I think. I'm getting a little too negative don't you think.

Wednesday, March 15

The independence of one lies in one's ability in maximising dependence on a single side.

Or so I think. Bleh.

Blogged second time in a day cos it just pokes me that I'm not doing justice for a rather eventful day. I'm just plain messed up, with the fact that I'm occupied with alot of things doesn't help too. Then again since when have I not been rather messed anyway? Lala.

Random outings are fun in the sense that they really bring out an impromptu sense in ourselves and we just let things go and be happy throughout, even if it's really stone or anything. Had so much of a laugh and so much of a joke. And yeah it did relax me a little. Brought out much of the tiredness and just let it flow away. Joking is good and it really helps yay. Hiokhong we rock HAHA.

Just that the pressure builds up in the face of work when I get back home and everything.

For the rest of the week I seriously doubt if I have the time to go out again. I'm really sorry to those who wanted me along for outings and stuff later this week, especially yewei haha. Yeah it's irresponsibility on my part in a way and I'm sorry but yeah I'll try definitely to fix another time which is possible. Right now it's way too pressing. Sorry.

Tuesday, March 14

Today was okay. Lala.

Well I realised yesterday night that since training time was changed to 3pm in the afternoon, I hadn't any reason to be in school so early and yeah I slept from 10pm to 10am. It was SHIOKNESS! Been so long since I ever slept that much, and yeah it was a deserving sleep after all that war. Not to mention I still feel sleepy. Sigh haha the entire term's worth of fatigue is coming down, coming down hard.

If humans need an optimum of 8 hours sleep every day:
2-4 hours of missed sleep x 7 days per week x 10 weeks = 140-280 hours of forgone sleep.
Heh oh boy, no wonder I'm so tired everyday hahaha. (:

Of course I know that there are many more people out there who sleep much lesser than I do, so cheers to y'all cos you're good and powerful and I salute you if you're still living life like a maniac! (:

After I woke up I groggily spent an hour writing out all the titles of the stories in Du Zhe 3 so that I could track my reading progress along the way. Yeah well so much for a test on DZ3 and DZ4. It was a horribly stoned process but yeah I succeeded...

And realised a few hours later that DZ (no, actually all magazines) have a content page! Ooh lala, jonlim you screwed yourself up again. Seriously, lol.

Never mind about that. I did it in the name of passion for learning chinese! And yes I'm actually reading DZ with pride y'know. I just don't read around crowded places thanks to the Jolin Tsai ad on the back of the magazine. DZ could probably well be passed off as FHM.

At around noon I went to school, settled prefects' stuff (blazers are really an alarming thing, sometimes) and tidied the prefects' room (prefects' shack rather HEH) a little :D so now it looks pretty empty with boxes all thrown into a corner and chairs all wheeled to the side. Now there's a main walkway in the room and things look nicer. Yay.

Then came TRAINING.
Training was okay for the warmup and everything (yeah they were always okay anyway). The main part of the session was this single set of 100m, 200m and 300m sprints all done in a row, 100m no slower than 14-15, 200m no slower than 29-30, and 300m no slower than 45. And I did the first two pretty well neither too fast nor too slow but the 300m went horribly wrong. Did like 47 and argh went all lactic and couldn't move.

At some point during training I caught a glimpse of pink spikes! Imagine if some track star like Jonah Tang wore pink Nikes and broke the 200m record with them! Oh THAT'd be fun. Hahaha pink would be too striking for guys. I wouldn't mind purple!

And that's just about it. All throughout today I went parading the Bayley shirt. Woots.

Sunday, March 12

Yesterday was the school track meet and well it was a event of many emotions. Bayley won with a dominating 200-point gap between runner-up house Moor but hey it was expected (: Apart from that we suffered tears and the pressure; we experienced motivational climbs and drops; we faced failure and success; we gained joy and pain.

I ran both relays 4x100m and 4x400m and yeah for the latter we got a sweeet GOLD MEDAL. Jiahao did very well by edging out a second for us by the end of the first round! Tom was SUPERB and overtook Moor! I widened the gap and Ding won it for us. Oh what can I say, there was never a sweeter year of PWNAGE.

4x100m. Was a disappointing letdown on my part and I deeply express my sincerest apologies to Jerome, Tom, Ding, Mr Yap, fellow 2A'05 guys and Bayley house. Transition of baton didn't go well and yeah I dropped it.

When I dropped it I went totally BLANK and was too frantic to think much and... over the process of frantic and fatal moments everything just went bad. The rest of the run was made futile cos of disqualification and blah I'm just so sorry. THAT GOLD MEDAL COULD'VE BEEN OURS. I promise we'll train earlier and practise more next year, and LET'S WIN DOUBLE GOLD FOR RELAYS AGAIN (:

Bayley did its best this year and I never saw more resilience and spirit coming from the runners, the supporters, the Bayleyeans. It was kinda unexpected that we won the cheering competition (I thought Hullett would've won!) but yes we won and we did cheer hard for it, after all. I gave my all and now my voice is HOARSE and recovering lala. All in all it's thanks to every single Bayleyean that made this possible. We have owned, we have conquered, and we've lived to see our victory. FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING (:

Bayley. Made memories sweet for my ri years. And for that I thank everyone. The highs and the lows, the surge of emotions when we won and were crowned championship winners, the pain when it bled from the fatal mistake of the relays. The rush of motivation and strength for the 400m soon after. And btw 400m is really MY main event. I'm so in love with it. Heart and soul all put into it and I did my very best. And I will continue to run my best for 400m no matter what. It's a personal legacy kept close to my heart.

Haha. And that was the track championships for you.

Time has flown (yes totally), and now a term has gone by since the start of Secondary 3. Yet in these few weeks we've all grown so much, and yes not to mention FAIL so much. I believe we will all pick up when we have fully adapted to our lives. We will make it.

I've crumbled and I have survived many times in the face of pressure, ever sometimes so badly and horribly. But through these moments I have grown stronger with every fall and I've learnt more and more. Guys who feel totally the same about it, we'll pull through, we'll be fine. And those people who totally own us in everything do not need to be taken heed of; we'll just go our own pace and make our personal legacy.

Inferiority doesn't bug me; for I walk away.

Why do people have to see a facade of you all the time so that they will have a good impression of you?

We can't just let everyone see the shadowed side of you so that you'll feel better? Why do we have to let everyone see only but a good side?

Why do we always have to show our greatness so as to derive our glory? Why do we have to stick to the glory we bear?

Why can't we just be weak, at times.

Saturday, March 4

Another week has passed yay. Well it was a rather funny one.

On sunday last week I woke up super early to do my work, and yeah I was sleepy. After I got my stuff ready for the day I went to the toilet and when I came back I accidentally smashed my left knee against a book rack in my way. Oh well and for all that pain, I was lying on the floor groaning for quite a while. Sheesh I'm really too tired lala.

It was ugly haha. Couldn't walk properly for that day itself and was half-limping on monday in school. But in the end it recovered well just around tuesday, through hard effort in applying loads of stuff on it then slapping on a heat pad with a knee guard to cover everything up.

And it so happened that i smashed my other knee against the same book rack on tuesday evening. Thankfully it healed quite a bit before the next day when I had to run both the 200m finals and the 800m finals. After which it started to swell and I couldn't attend swimming the next day.

Btw yay I got a silver medal for 800m. 2 minutes 29.

The rest of the week was pure tests, studying and crapping away yay. I can't remember much.
