Well today was some blind sleepy mess of a thing. Add the flu and it gets all blurry. All I really remembered was that I didn't really train but just ran a long run and stopped after a while.
Perhaps some random picks for today hmm.
I got a new laptop! Well after the earlier one screwed up and couldn't be switched on. This is some bomb haha it's all shiny black and wide and light, plus it's so new, it's super fast. Haha but still it's used by all of us in the family and I can't really call it exactly my own anyway haha.

Plus yesterday night we were all out late shopping for cny stuff and I got myself my clothes already. I'm gonna be some all brown thingy this chinese new year with a brown shirt brown pants and matching brown sneakers. Well apart from the sneakers they rest were all from 77th street, and my first time buying real stuff from there too!

And today was indeed all blurry. At one point there was our class symphonic trio playing their masterpieces or something. With a hole in the wall you know things can't get any more right haha!

Well more or less a day gone by really fast. And I swear I'm not taking coffee anymore!

Maybe it was a step too soon, too much to take, too far away.

It's finally another saturday haha been skimming over this week with coffee and long naps at the library but well hope I can get a little more energetic next week!
Been looking at things over this week, and wondering so much more. Well the world of people is diverse, many different talents around. People living walls apart may be working fields apart, or even social classes apart in given time, depending on how hard they work and where. To look at the world from this point of view, it would seem really hard to bind such diversity by these three colours:

And yet somehow we have come together to a certain extent. But what would it take to bond everyone in this family together? Family without all its members is a broken family. What can we do to let the spirit run through all of our veins and spurring us on no matter what it takes?

The word behind you; it stands for real. It's calling out to you, it wants to appeal: "No worries my boy, you've got 184 sturdy strong years backing you up; no worries, erase those fears. Give your best, you'll shine it through. You'll add another year of strength for the next guy who dons this word."
We are definitely these gryphons, these carriers of an epidemic of spirit and strength, of great tenacity. What it takes to be the next great wave that sweeps the world, is to have every single gryphon in us bring themselves out in true light.
I've never been much of a cynic I agree, but this is real. It's these 4 years of true legacy that will probably never come back to us after we've left it. Much more painfully to say that this batch of 2007 will be going forth in these last few months, then making an exit, finally judging ourselves from the point we've left, "Who are we? How much have we done?"
And we'll know the answer.

Haha today was bomb. There was some bottleneck at CTE-Braddell exit along the expressway so the bus was left in a screwed position apparently and we all got worried. But thankfully that didn't amount to much trouble haha.
Then after school we were filming abit for The Arena!

Haha they made us do cheers and stuff and carry the debaters and pop them up and down as they filmed away. Probably would be shown during the semi-finals which is about a month away. Oh by the way RI won HCI in the quarters! See, our loss was a total fluke la!
Well and once again after many many months I finally handled the flags. It was really fun especially with some killer winds blowing past the block foyer and it drove the flags crazy so we had a bit of fun trying to swipe flags here and there and at each other.

Been wondering sometimes about how cynical students can be in the face of school events. It's quite horrible to say that a lot are just plain uninterested and mainly disbelieving in the things we do, well yes different focus placed on different things in life I guess, but this isn't the way things work la. There will be a clash of priorities amongst everyone in here but let there not be a clash of people and their pride. Whatever it takes to drive an army, let that spirit lie deep within all of us and perhaps so many things can be made possible.
The cynicism is always there yes but I don't know, it's horribly out of place and unwelcome here.
But haha never mind we will always press on! Coffee's been sustaining me I'd better drop it slowly haha.

Haha finally with enough time to post and not feeling the rush of things for a while, before I actually start to clear my undone work. Well there wasn't really much of really eventful magical stuff lately haha. Been leaving school at 8-9pm and watching the night sky as how I've watched it during the holidays in school as well.
Yesterday was quite pissifying. Had a 300m time trial of sorts and I clocked 41. Blah how am I supposed to win that interhouse gold when I'm not doing a timing like 39 or something. I don't care I think I'm gonna pump everything into the 400m I do and I'll make sure I do it good.
But other than that everything else is rather fine haha. Still enjoying the homely and humble canteen food which we so dearly stuck to in our early RI years, now that it's back it makes the whole experience a lot better. But I still think the new CCA block is sadly dismal and small. I don't want the RIPB room to look like a small bookshop. I don't want the CCA rooms to look like prison cells! Yeah ok see what we can do about it then.
Hmm been wondering too about the many defining moments which already happened this year. Moments which brought us on a high and really made us all bond and come together in a united spirit. For Raffles and for our future. And these are the many many bits that come together to make our lives so worthwhile:
- Orientation Camp finale: the very first time the rock remake of our batch song was introduced and we just hopped and jumped to the tune, bringing the house down. All the sec1s were on high too! Everything ended well with a Unite cheer done really impressively.
- Post-camp finale!: When all the sec1s had left, the psls went all high and wild and did another really wowing Unite on all floors of the junior block and we cleaned up shortly afterwards plus a really fun debrief which ended with Paul getting taupokked and then carried all the way to the swimming pool to get dunked. Eventually I got carried off as well and dunked. Cheers to Mike, Titus and Will, and all the others who jumped in themselves! Afterwards we all just humbly sang our batch song in the raja block foyer and I guess that was the best magical moment I've ever experienced in school in years.
- PSGM opening ceremony: At that point where the green black white balloons all fell from high above and all the sec1s went high trying to hit them all and bounce them around haha it was really a swirl of raffles and the high mighty spirit was there at its best.
I guess that was it, in a period of less than a month and we already have such a fulfilling time! I have a feeling this year is going to zip past before we know it and we're all going to regret why we didn't make our lives in school more eventful. Things could always be so much better no matter how good they are but I guess it's always the case. Hahah.
Now on to the next week and so many things that lie in store ahead. Onward Raffles!

Haha somehow this is so late but I just got the RIPB 2006 photo. Today after school it was a nice math remedial plus PI meeting and then Bayley meeting! Everything's going somewhere nicely haha and it's a nice night after I left school. Been busy for the past few days haha I guess I can only blog nice and long during the weekends.

For RIPB, for Raffles and beyond!

Today was bomb haha I think I shall slowly swear off coffee again!
THE DOOR
Hard wood, splinterless. Metal knob, cold and strong. I couldn't reach it at an early age; I sang a song, a hopeful song that one day I could explore past this cage.
Roots of wisdom held me firm, branches of bravery stretched me tall; I stood grounded, hands now able to reach the cold hard knob with no doubt, expecting no fall.
So it opened.
Out gushed a mess of what inexplicable, indefinite whirl of minions monsters mangled into a face of troubles, of doubt and uncertainty.
I slammed it shut. Roots loose, branches dwindled, set apart in this war of what's to be and what's not to. I shall set a lock on it.
One day, someday I might come across that key.

Haha yesterday I went to watch One Last Dance late at night and returned home around late eleven wondering what to do with my chinese homework but eventually I cleared it in the end.

Haha it's my very first official NC16 movie! Which I got in officially but realized the guys didn't even ask for my IC haha. It's a really thought-provoking movie laden with loads of crude language but aside that it's really deep. Eventually I was lost within the hidden details and the questions posed by the different people within the movie. A nice watch, if you're finally OF AGE ha ha.
Really useful movie which tackles many little parts of life that are yet to be questioned. Haha some fun points I shall post here:
- Two identical pieces of scotch tape torn from a roll can have entirely different purposes. On one hand it can be used to stick two torn pieces of paper together, and on the other hand, it can be used to take a life when you use it to cover that single hole where a person is breathing from, when he's covered all over by wrapping foil.
- The worst thing for Man isn't his death, it's his weaknesses.
- A person wants to commit suicide and hence ties a noose to a ceiling and hangs himself on it. The rope broke off from the ceiling, failing his suicide attempt but however he broke his neck when he fell and hit the floor and hence he died. He wouldn't have died if he didn't want to commit suicide in the first place. What kind of death would it be counted as?
- A boss employs a hitman and he provides his hitman with targets to kill by writing the target's name on a piece of paper, putting it into a red packet and then giving the hitman the packet. The hitman then tracks the target down and kills him by shooting. Who is the killer, the boss who write the names, or the hitman who pulls the trigger?
Haha totally fun. Today was also the opening of the new canteen! The old stores are back, the nice chicken rice, the Kampung uncle who asks for millions, the same old lovely stalls that made up our junior years. And the food is much cheaper now so, GO RAFFLES!

It's the very first saturday of official schooling! And we're all just high over the post-camp blues, JRIC went just so well and PSGM just rocked away its official opening! Haha the sec ones just rock. So do the PSLs! Each and every one of you make a big big difference to how the whole thing went. Haha ok now I finally have the time to post a big long post about each and every single thing so here goes!
NAGARRO: PASSION PRIDE POWER ORIENTATION CAMP 2007
Well haha it was 3 full days of just fun excitement, well okay not all the time for we had to get serious at a few moments but overall I guess it really went well altogether. Haha I'll just paste photos here and let the pictures do the talking! Not that many photos well because I had to be in front there all the time and couldn't possibly reveal a camera taking random shots.
Haha yeah in those 3 full days, Raffles conquered Bishan Park, the whole Bishan neighbourhood, some gangsters, our fears, our comfort zones, our passion pride power! Batch of 2010, you guys are powerful when together, Nagarro is within you all and it will serve you well! Not to mention the shirt everyone was wearing haha it gets very fun when you have everyone starting to wear your work like a brand. Everyone on shirts, bags, towels, handbooks, pens! I feel HONOURED.

And here on, the rest of the camp! All days merged into a few photos.

And here was the setup of the finale haha. The finale went super well! It ended like a real rock gig when we did a rock remake of our batch song and everyone just went all high and wild and started jumping and hopping to the beat and we really brought the house down. WELL DONE RAFFLES!

And here we are with Ryan and Kester the two guys who did a brilliant speech for JRIC!

Haha throughout the camp I guess everyone was tired especially the PSLs who really gave their all to ensure that the camp went well. While lights out time was at 12 for sec ones most of us slept at around 2 and some people like zhemin and yansheng were really great and they stayed all the way till late past humanity in order to work out the additional small details for the following day. Paul and I and some guys sustained ourselves using alot of coffee haha well I guess it was worth it. Thanks yewei for bringing me nice piping hot coffee on the first day of camp! Was really feeling sleepy.
Well the camp was done and after all the sec ones left for home ALL THE SEC FOURS WENT WILD! Haha we did Unite once all over again and went higher than high and spent a few mins cleaning up the entire junior block I've never seen such efficiency before in my whole life haha! Then it was a debrief and no sooner than soon, Paul and I were manhandled and carried off by 140+ sec fours to the swimming pool
And yes we got dunked, in the dead of the night and spirit of the camp!
Cheers to all those who got dunked in the process too! Haha and after all that dunking we lost a pair of specs, lost alot of dryness in the air and we lost our voices after the camp (poor Paul couldn't even speak properly anymore) and we just stood in the Raja block foyer in a circle singing our batch song once through. MEMORIES I TELL YOU! BATCH OF 2007 WE WILL LEAVE THIS MARK FOR RAFFLES!
Okay now onto the next bit!
JUNIOR RAFFLESIAN INVESTITURE CEREMONY @ OUR VERY NEW ALBERT HONG HALL!
Well this was a nice new thing when we actually could step foot into our new hall and new canteen block! Haha so I took the chance before the actual stuff to snap some shots of the canteen, the new CCA hub, the DROPDEAD GORGEOUS FIELD and our hall!

Haha JRIC went super well but I didn't manage to snap anything for the sake of formality and not revealing random cameras in front of the crowd. Haha at the end the band was really good and our rock remake of the batch song just drove all the sec ones up high again! This time as full Rafflesians with shining glorious school badges! Credit goes to Chris Kwan who did an excellent job with JRIC.
Haha after JRIC I went running around guiding the j1s who came back to take a look, and talked to people here and there, and when everyone left I got taupokked and left flat dead on the floor wondering why had I ever bothered to get into that mess of people, especially dead right at the bottom of the pile sheesh it's some stupid pressure cooker feeling down there!
Then yeah we went all high and wild cleaning up and putting stuff back into their places. Haha oh yeah I remember during the camp we were dunking Titus so we developed the TITUS CHEER!
When we win the TITUS People want to know How we win the TITUS How we win the gold We reply with a little bit of vigour We win the TITUS through training and rigour Hey, Hey, What'dya see now? Mighty TITUS's on his way now!
Say T! T! I! I! T! T! U! U! S! S!
What's that! TITUS! One more time! TITUS! Who's the best! WE ALL!
HAHAHAHA everyone loved it and we continued cheering that all the way till we left for home! It was just a really really fun thing.
Now then that was Wednesday this week, 10th Jan. YESTERDAY we had our very first PSGM and we brought the house down again!
PEER SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS FIRST PSGM: OPENING CEREMONY!
Haha it was such a fun thing, with Mr Mag giving a brilliant speech and Hiok's band rocking the place with three songs but unfortunately which the sec ones didn't really hear cos of the poor junior block acoustics haha. Still, the last song really was some climax when we let the overhanging balloons drop all the way down! And we really started some party going!

Haha and it was a really nice day. 12th January! Happy birthday Jason, Amin, Nity and Arathi! Haha and thanks to those guys who wished me greetings, belated or too early doesn't matter haha it was a really nice day, to top it off TRAINING WAS MAD I did some 43 and 46 for 2x300m with a 10min fast run before that. So that means another record was set for myself! Haha though it left me quite dead.
Thanks Mr Yap for the nice small note and the leader plaque thing! The camp went well I guess everyone did their best, every single person who saw it through and watched both us and the sec ones grow. Haha and I managed to secure the Op luggage bag for myself haha!
After training I went for buffet dinner and really stuffed myself full. Returned home feeling happy and slept the way through till today! It's been a great fulfilling fortnight I'm just so contented for these things to happen. NOW WHAT'S NEXT.
Time to go down to details with RIPB it's our investiture up next and we will rock it. INTERHOUSE TRACK will be starting I'm gonna claim that 400m gold medal for myself. And so many other things happening too let's just all give our best!

Haha it's been a very busy week so far I haven't got time to post in detail. Orientation camp was a real big blast which ended like a rock gig with a big splash in the water. Haha! Well yeah tomorrow's JRIC and it's gonna be nice. I'll probably post all in big detail OC+JRIC+PSGM and stuff all into one in a nice read haha. Till then, there's been so many changes, so many adaptations, so many things to conform to, so many things to roam for. Ciao!

As we step into the final few hours of our holidays, the day ahead looms pretty big.
We can all do this. New sec ones get ready for a big big wave coming your way!
For the legacy, for Raffles.

ALL THE WAY RAFFLES!

I still can't upload photos so well:
happy new year!
Spent last night bowling till midnight. Along the way they switched off the normal lights and turned on the neon ones! So the WHOLE bowling alley flashed neon and our bowling shoes started to glow with bowling pin imprints. Those wearing white shirts all started glowing too haha. And we bowled all the way till midnight and there were huge hiphop hits playing all throughout. Huge bass = huge fun!
Well it's time to reawaken to the new year and it's time to get things all stable and ready. Even I'm halfway through my homework haha and I'm about to complete it by tonight! Yeah well things said, we have to make the very best of it. Our final year. It's now or never guys!
For Raffles, for the sec ones, for the 49. I'MMA SHINE!
